この度、東京画廊 + BTAP（北京）では4月27日(火)より、写真家・鈴木弘之氏による『東京Construction + JK Memorial Photograph』展を開催いたします。同氏のパートナーでもあるファッションデザイナー・コシノジュンコ氏が、初めて北京で大規模なファッションショーを開催してから、今年で25周年を迎えます。本展では、鈴木氏が首都高速道路の建設現場を撮影した写真作品と併せて、コシノ氏が北京でショーを開催した際の記録写真を展示いたします。

鈴木弘之氏は静岡県生まれ。パリコレクションを初め、これまで北京（85年）、ニューヨーク（90年）、ベトナム（94年）、キューバ（96年）など、世界各地で開催されたJUNKO KOSHINOのファッションショーの企画・プロデュースを手がけてきました。 他方では、短編小説の執筆を行うなど幅広い分野で活動し、2006年より写真家として本格的に制作を開始します。以来、"A　MOMENT"をコンセプトに、世界中の建設現場を撮影した写真作品を発表しています。

今回鈴木氏が撮影を行った首都高速道路は、1991年に着工し、高層ビルや地下鉄の隙間を縫うようにして建設が進められました。地下を含め6層の構造になる現場は、超過密都市・東京の象徴であり、そこで築かれてゆく建造物に、鈴木氏は目を奪われたと言います。鈴木氏は、建設の過程に内在するエネルギーにシャッターを向け、完成後の機能美とは対照的な、「未完の美」を画面に捉えました。一連の写真には、工事現場が持つ独特の物質感と躍動感が表され、空中を浮遊し光を遮るコンクリートの塊は、凄絶な存在感を示すのです。

また本展では、これらの写真作品に加え、1985年にコシノジュンコ氏が北京でファッションショーを行った際の記録写真、および同氏のモード写真を展示いたします。北京で初めてショーを開催して以来、コシノ氏は北京市内で多くの展覧会やイベントを行いました。今回展示される記録写真には、著名人との歴史的な対面が写されており、当時人々の生活に与えたインパクトを物語ります。また、1996年や2009年にキューバで開催されたファッションショーの写真は、コシノ氏の創造の基盤と、鈴木氏の写真活動を知る上でも貴重なものです。

Tokyo Gallery + BTAP (Beijing) is holding an exhibition by photographer Hiroyuki Suzuki entitled “Tokyo Construction + JK Memorial Photographs” starting Tuesday, April 27, 2010. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the first large-scale fashion show held in Beijing by Suzuki’s partner, the fashion designer Junko Koshino. On display at this exhibition are photos of expressway construction sites in Tokyo, as well as photos documenting Koshino’s Beijing fashion show.

Hiroyuki Suzuki was born in Shizuoka prefecture. He has planned and produced fashion shows by Junko Koshino at Paris Fashion Week and in various cities and countries around the world, including Beijing (1985), New York (1990), Vietnam (1994) and Cuba (1996). Suzuki is active in a wide variety of other fields, and has also written a number of short stories. He has been pursuing photography seriously since 2006, exhibiting his photos of construction sites around the world that aim to capture unique, singular moments.

The construction of the Tokyo expressways captured in these photos began in 1991. They thread through the gaps that lie between the city’s high-rise buildings and network of subway lines, while the construction sites that are responsible for building them are made up of six layers, including an underground portion - symbols of the dense, overcrowded conditions in the Japanese capital. The buildings that emerged from these sites, according to Suzuki, “took his breath away”. By training his lens on the exuberant energy inherent to the construction process, Suzuki captures the beauty of incompletion that stands in stark contrast to the functional beauty of finished structures. “Tokyo Construction” depicts a sense of materiality and dynamism unique to these construction sites. The concrete masses that float in midair and block out the sun are imposing presences with something almost violent about them.

In addition to these works, this exhibition also showcases documentary photographs of Junko Koshino’s 1985 fashion show in Beijing, as well as a selection of Suzuki’s fashion photography. Since her debut show in Beijing, Koshino has staged numerous other exhibitions and events in the Chinese capital. The documentary photos on display depict her historical encounters with famous people, and speak eloquently of the impact that she made on people at the time. In addition to giving audiences a glimpse of the foundations of both Koshino’s creative activities and Suzuki’s career as a photographer, the photos of fashion shows held in Cuba in 1996 and 2009 also constitute a rare and valuable body of work.

东京画廊 + BTAP将于4月27日（周二）～5月30日（日）在本画廊举办摄影家铃木弘之的摄影展「东京Construction + JK Memorial Photograph」。适逢其合作伙伴——世界著名服装设计师JUNKO KOSHINO（小筱顺子）迎来其首次在京举办大型时装秀25周年之际，本次展览在展出铃木氏摄于日本首都高速道路建设现场的摄影作品的同时，也将为您呈现小筱氏在北京举办时装秀时所拍摄的纪念影像。

铃木弘之生于日本福冈县。自巴黎时装秀后，铃木氏就一直担任其妻小筱氏在世界各地举办的时装秀的策划和总监。诸如北京（1985）、纽约（1990）、越南（1994）、古巴（1996）等地所举办的JUNKO KOSHINO的时装秀。另外，铃木氏还活跃在短篇小说界等多种文艺领域，自2006年起，开始了作为职业摄影家的摄影创作。自此以后，铃木氏还发表了以“A　MOMENT”为概念的在世界各地的建筑现场所拍摄的摄影作品。

本次展览，由铃木氏拍摄的在曲折蜿蜒的高楼和地铁的缝隙间进行施工的画面，均来自于1991年开工建设的日本首都高速公路。这在夹缝中不断向6层（包含地下）施工的建筑现场，不正是高密度都市——东京的缩影吗？也许铃木氏正是为这种正在不断向上的建筑物所深深着迷吧。铃木氏对正在建设中的内在能量按下快门，所捕捉到的“未完成之美”之画面与完工后的机能之美形成强烈对比。而藉由这一系列的照片，向我们展现出了施工现场所独有的物质性和跃动感。同时，也宣泄出了那与浮游之光掩映间的混凝土块强烈的存在感。

另外，本次展览还将展出小筱氏于1985年在北京举行时装发布会期间所拍摄的纪念影像，同时还包括其设计作品的相片。自首次在京举办时装秀后，小筱氏也曾多次出席北京市内的展览会和各种活动。且在本次展览之中就展出有小筱氏与著名人士会面时的珍贵照片——这些历史性的瞬间也同时影射出了其对当时人们的生活所给予的影响。此外，通过展出的1996年和2009年小筱氏于古巴举办时装秀时的照片，或许能令您更进一步地了解小筱氏的服装设计理念以及铃木氏的摄影活动。
