関根伸夫/Nobuo Sekine


Nobuo Sekine was born in Saitama Prefecture in 1942 and earned his MFA in 1968 from Tama Art Univeristy, Tokyo.
Sekine is a recipient of numerous awards in Japan including Commendatory Prize at 11th Shell Art Exhibition, Tokyo (1967); Concour Prize at 8th Contemporary Art Exhibition (1968); Asahi News Paper Prize at Contemporary Sculpture Exhibition, Suma Palace Park (1968); First Prize at The 5th Nagaoka Museum of Contemporary Art Prize Exhibition, (1968); Prize Group Work at The 6th Paris Youth Biennale (1969); Concour Prize at The 1st International Cotemporary Sculpture Exhibition (1969). In 1973, Sekine founded the Environmental Art Studio where he continues to focus on creating large-scale public artworks.
