Miki Taira was born in Saitama Prefecture in 1984. Graduated with calligraphy major from Tokyo Gakugei University, Taira based her sculptures on the theme of Japanese folk tales, writing countless calligraphy on the surface of the sculptures. After winning Silver Award at GEISAI#10 in 2006, she has been participating in various group shows and art fairs around the world.
