私は中間性または宙吊り状態の絵を描きたいと思っている。つまり、一つの形にとどまらないイメージとして、現れたり消えたり、纏まったり散らばったりするものを描きたい。表現として動きがあって、余白を孕んだ空っぽなイメージ。一方、固まった絵具、水だらけの水彩の模様、液体で強調された紙の繊維によって存在感を持つ表現を生み出す。真空と物質性の間に宙吊りになった形象。幽霊のような半透明性と、紙を破ったり線を消す行為によって成り立つ肉体性との形象。私の宙吊りになったイメージは「地に足が付いていない」。それは、「具象のようなはっきりした輪郭を持たない表現」でありながら、「留まらない思いを起こす絵の知覚」を目指す芸術で、観客を「広がりを持つが閉じた世界」に導く絵なのである。

As for pictures using with or 'circles', I think what is reflected by the state of the image surface is intermediateness and incompleteness. Perhaps this manifest itself before I, situated in the middle of this condition, was even aware. This state of reality—watching television, movies, using the internet—is one in which the virtual is already a part. And if mere reality alone is no longer familiar, neither is simply the virtual. This is when one wonders if the things one sees can be seen any longer as they really are. It’s a feeling of being in a closed world, completely motionless. I think that such a sensation may be able to manifest itself in my pictures.
